St Ives- This poem is very short, but very funny. Rhyme is a poetic device used in this poem. You can see the use of the poetic device rhyme in lines one and two. This poem is about a man who meets another man with seven wives and says its better than having one wife. Another poetic device used in this poem is free verse because it does not follow a specific rhyme scheme. Lastly, another poetic device used in this poem is hyperbole, because the man in the poem says he can not get stuck to a single wife. Overall, I liked this poem because the character in the poem was funny.
